There came a time when I decided to take on the responsibility of building a website. I had so many questions and no idea where to begin to look for answers. I began typing every word or phrase I could think of pertaining to website development and reading all I could to find the answers to my questions.

During my pursuit, I learned that a person don’t just build a website. There is hosting, the service that actually makes the website live on the internet, website building software such as Drupal, Joomla, and WordPress, naming a only a few, there is SEO, Search Engine Optimization, Page Ranking, Traffic, Domain ownership, and so much more.

I found that all web hosts are not created equal. Some are considered good and some are bad. Finding one that I felt good about was the hard part. I ended up with because of their competitive pricing, decent customer service, unlimited bandwith, multiple domain hosting and the all famous cpanel which is used to navigate through the hosting system.

While looking for a suitable website building software , I stumbled across so many. Some are free, some claim to be free, others cost money, some are for beginners and others are advanced. There is HTML and anyone can use this for free. No programs are needed. All you need is notepad and some knowledge of HTML(HyperText Markup Language) and build a website free. At that time, the very names of some of the programs I listed above, Drupal, Joomla and WordPress were intimidating enough to steer me away from those choices.

I kept searching and one day I saw it just pure as the driven snow……WYSIWYG, What You See Is What You Get. When I read that, my first thought was “I don’t know what it is but I must know more.” WYSIWYG editors are website building programs designed for people with little or no formal computer training who want to build their own website. In short, WYSIWYG is a drag and drop style website builder which enables a person to construct a website in the form that it will look if published to the web, hence the acronym WYSIWYG.

After a long hard search and trying a few WYSIWYG editors, I finally settled with Web Easy Professional 8. It is reasonably priced, fairly easy to learn, customer service needs improvement, and it has its own FTP client(file transfer protocol), the system used to upload website files from a computer to a web host server to be published to the world wide web.

Nearly one year into website building, I have found that website development and internet technology is so vast that one person cannot learn all there is to know. Whats morePsychology Articles, technology is changing so fast that keeping up with the changes is another feat in itself.
